Welcome to Legrand Lens!

Hi! My name is Alicia Legrand Vega, I am from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and I am currently studying Audiovisual Communication + Screen Studies at La Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona. My hobbies include listening to music, going to the beach, and being with friends and family. I will use this website to share blogs regarding different topics that interest me, including culture, music, cinema, etc. This blog will be where I will discuss various topics through my lens. 

Due to where I grew up, I would like to talk about Puerto Rican culture and its richness. From the music, the food, and the island's history to the political and economic issues on the island. 

Other than that, I am interested in writing about music, from explaining the meaning of a song or the correlation of an album as a whole to the effect music has on cinema and how the simple addition of a song can alter the audience's emotions completely. Furthermore, discovering small bands or artists and talking about their origin and coming up, is another aspect of music I am interested in diving into. 

On another point, women's rights interests me deeply, as a woman raised surrounded by powerful women. I would like to dive into societal roles and rights in different cultures, and how the culture and history of the place affect the roles and rights of the women living there. 

Growing up in Puerto Rico, being surrounded by music my whole life, and growing up surrounded by strong independent women have cultivated my interest in these topics.
